custom painting since 2003
Pinstriping
Started in 2003 when I picked up a brush and went to work for a Deano’s Paint Works in Tempe, Arizona. Lending my hand in painting over one thousand bikes a year till striking out on my own in 2007.
Lettering
When I became adept with a pinstriper’s brush, I felt the need to learn lettering too and went to work learning this traditional hand craft which was unpopular at the time.
Airbrushing
While I enjoy traditional brush work over airbrushing, if the job calls for airbrushing, I’ll do it. You know how the saying goes, “Once you learn to ride a bike”. Skulls, pinups, smoke, flames, you name it.
Custom Painting
While I’d painted a few cars in my youth, I really began to learn custom paint in 2003, along side pinstriping, airbrushing and the rest. Perfection is the goal. Quality is key.
Gold & Silver Leafing
I’ve worked leafing on motorcycle tanks, classic cars, signage and a variety of objects under restoration. Glass gilding is my favorite.
Restoration Work
With the traditional tools and trades listed here, you might imagine, I’ve gotten the call for a variety of work. Just to name a few, the Scottsdale Charros Carousel horses at McCormick Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale, Arizona, the recreation of hand painted signage that adorns the 1950 Volkswagen Type 2 “Radium” Bus for Ed Hughes and the 1976 Porsche 934 AL HOLBERT CAR for Patrick Motorsports. While these examples are the most time-consuming, they are exceedingly rewarding. Small projects are welcome too.
Patina Work
Mostly called to use on Pinstriping & Lettering projects, It’s a lot of fun meeting the challenge of aging something new to look old.
Design Work
Often thought of in terms relative to the digital world, design has its roots in all the tradition trades. Design skills are used to create logos, marks, digital mock-ups and files for various needs and products of our clients. Such as the pinstriping for a Snap-On artist series creepers and a variety of skateboard graphics for Black Longboards.
